Richard Robins conducts research at the intersection of personality, social, and developmental psychology, with an emphasis on self-conscious emotions, self-esteem, narcissism, and personality processes. He served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and as co-editor of The Self-Conscious Emotions: Theory and Research, the Handbook of Research Methods in Personality Psychology, and the Handbook of Personality: Theory and Research. He is the recipient of the 2003 "Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution in Psychology" from the American Psychological Association, and the 2002 "Theoretical Innovation Prize" from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. After receiving a BA and PhD in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley, he joined the faculty at the University of California, Davis where he is currently a Professor of Psychology.
